One of our clients is Lindblad Expeditions and their fleet of National Geographic expedition ships. The first vessel on which we treated with Leitha CleanCoat™ was The National Geographic Explorer, a state-of-the-art ice-class expedition ship. The Explorer accommodates 148 guests in 81 spacious cabins, and is equipped with the latest tools for exploration.
It also used to have many conventional cleaning detergents on board, but in 2018 a team from Leitha Clean Technologies was invited onboard to implement the coating on the entire ship.
Consequently, six cleaning detergents were reduced to one – ECA Water – and the ship eliminated its chemical use. Moreover, Lindblad Expeditions removed over 1,000 plastic bottles containing detergents fleet wide, and reduced their water consumption by 1.1 million gallons per year, as they no longer not need to rinse off conventional detergents.
The crew was also trained in a more efficient and healthier way of working with disinfection and cleaning.
Based on great results and high crew satisfaction with Leitha CleanCoat™ onboard the Explorer, Lindblad Expeditions has decided to roll out the solution to their entire fleet.
